Plant & Trees Q & A's
1) Where do you get your plants?
We utilize several top nurseries in the state of Florida. It all depends on what we have determined to be the best overall landscaping design for your particular landscape in the way of plants and who has them in the character required for the project. We only use Florida Fancy #1, as opposed to their popular close relative Florida Ugly #33, plants which are grown by licensed nursuries under the Florida Department of Agriculture guidelines before they are sold.
2) Do you have your own nursery?
It is our view that if a landscaper were affiliated with a single nursery they would basically incorporate plantings into their designs and installations that were only available at the time from one nursery. A single nursery is not capable of supplying at all times the best supply and quality of plantings available of being incorporated into a landscape design. We on the other hand cannot afford such quality and variation limitations in our installations and instead have accounts at several top nurseries in the state. Besides, we would rather leave the headaches of running a licenced nursery to those who really, really, really really, really like growing plants on that type of scale and oversight.
3) What type of plants can be installed?
My motto is, "put the right plant in the right spot." This is low maintenance!!! Since there are no design cops telling us what is right and wrong, we can pretty much do what we want. But we will actually select the plants that will accent your architecture or help give you the feeling you want for your botanical garden.
4) Can I use the plants already in my yard?
"I'm the Landscape Renovator." Renovator doesn't mean "start new"! I love using existing plants. It helps give a mature landscape design and helps with your budget (or gives me more money to play with and give you awesome details.)
5) Do you do maintenance work for the plantings?
We help you as much as possible with maintaining your plantings. We don't actually come out and provide physical maintenance but with our plant library and its maintenance guidelines, we are sure you will be successful maintaining your plants or will be able to convey too your maintenance company how you want your gardens maintained.
